This one turned out to be a great surprising show. Thanks to the amazing voice and talent for acting of Audra McDonald playing the character of Lizzie and absolutely stealing the show! Studio 54 is not much in the way of the more known theaters on Broadway and it turned out to be a nice and intimate venue. Not knowing truly what was to come, you sort of get the feel that you are at a Audra McDonald performance! She really does steal the show and bring back true theater to the heart of New York. By this, it seams as if finally a classic style production which has no mainstream PR such as being based on a movie has found it's way onto Broadway. I am sure you will read other reviews an all will praise the beauty and talent of a true star that Ms. McDonald is, that is not to say the cast is not all great and add to the musical. The whole cast actually make the show what it is and would be hard to imagine 110 In The Shade with any other cast members.
